About the Project
The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is undertaking improvements to Highway 400 from approximately
1.5 km south of Langstaff Road to 1.5 km north to Major Mackenzie Drive (encompassing 7.8 km of Highway 400) within the City of Vaughan.
The project involves:
Widening the highway from 8 lanes to 10 lanes, in northbound and southbound directions, to accommodate high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes; and
The rehabilitation of existing Highway 400 lanes, interchange ramps and arterial roads.
MTO has awarded the Construction Administration assignment to GHD. Construction is expected to begin in 2024 and continue for 3.5 years, with an anticipated completion date in August 2027.
